We have covered in some detail throughout this site the many benefits of relaxing in a hammock, whether for a pleasant break in the day, or for a good night's sleep on a sultry summer night. Many are the times, however when one might desire the weightless supported feeling, in a more seated position or in a space too confined for a traditional hammock. Enter the Hammock Chair! Easily supported by any sturdy ceiling, tree branch or overhead beam, a hanging chair provides much of the comfort of the hammock, without the spatial considerations. In the world of hanging chairs there are a lot to choose from, everything from the simple to the sublimely ridiculous, and from almost every hammock making country in the world. Tommy has tried most of these out, and found many with intriguing qualities. In the interest of offering only the finest, we have chosen chairs of the Nicamaka manufacture, which feature high quality American yarns, hand crafted to the highest standards by Nicaraguan craftsmen. These chairs were chosen for our site because of the closeness of the open weave which gives tremendous support and excellent breatheability. They are sprang woven(or open woven) which makes them ideal for outdoor use. We are also proud to feature the ever popular Air Chair, The Charleston Recliner, and the Lounge chair from Outback Chair, the pioneering and preeminant manufacturer of hanging chairs. The largest chair hammock on todays market, with a wide, 47" turned hardwood support bar is the Key West Chair! This gorgeous chair allows you to fully stretch out in it like a hammock! Even over six footers can really stretch out in this chair in total comfort.
Where elegant grace is desired, the Granada chair, Nicamaka's elegant, practical, 34" wide wrought steel support arch with downward curled seat attach points and easy seat replacement is the obvious answer. The Air Chair has the capability to be adjusted so that your lower limbs (legs) are raised above your chest. This enables better circulation in your legs and is deemed beneficial for people with poor circulation. Regular chairs that offer this type of recline cost up to $1500. By simply adjusting the side knots on the Air Chair and raising the footrests a little higher, you are able to quickly and easily achieve one of the most comfortable sitting positions that any chair at any price can offer you!
For outdoor use the Charleston Recliner is a really nice blend of the informality of a hanging hammock chair and the comfort of a cushioned seat. 36" wide bar and 50" top to bottom dimensions. Comfortable, durable and compact, it is ideal as a porch chair or in an informal sitting room.
