The Mayan Hammock, or Hamaca Maya, is a light, sprang woven webbing that opens effortlessly to accommodate the user. It is woven of thin strings, yet can hold up to a thousand pounds. Pound for pound, and dollar for dollar, it is the best comfort value available in the hammock market place (or any other market, for that matter.) For more information about Mayan hammocks see Mayan Hammocks. Or Hammocks Then and Now for even more information and history. The cotton Mayan is the softest in feel of all Mayan hammocks, the nylon a bit sturdier and more durable. The Nylon hammocks we have now are the best made and most comfortable we have found. Special Note: While Nylon hammocks perform better than cotton in high humid environments, cotton is better at resisting destruction in high UV environments. This is because today's nylon hammocks are actually polypropylene, which becomes degraded by UV radiation. All hammocks can fade over time, particularly the darker colors. The cotton hammocks also may bleed when washed or wet, particularly the darker colors. Over time they achieve a comfortable lived in look like a favorite pair of blue jeans. With a huge incoming order and not enough space in the warehouse, we are stuck, and you are in luck! We are running a blow out sale on our three most popular Mayan sizes. Get 'em while they last. Buy extra--the prices will never be better than this. All AA grade hammocks.
